Combination of Theory and Practice - Automation Implement Contest
The finals of the 7th TBI Intelligent Automation Creative Implement Contest were held on the 26th of this month at National Chin-Yi University of Technology. The total prize for this edition of the competition amounted to 400,000 NT dollars, attracting 30 teams from across the country to participate, with 16 teams advancing to the finals. In the end, the team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Chung Hsing University emerged as the champions with their bio-inspired robot, " Biomimetic Continuum Robotic with Adaptive Grasping Function Inspired by an Elephant Trunk," and received a prize of 150,000 NT dollars. The vertical movement function of the champion team's robot was achieved by using a stepper motor connected with a SESAME PGLH60-5 planetary gearbox and a TBI ball screw.
As one of the 12 domestic sponsoring companies for this event, Sesame Motor not only provided competition bonus but also offered free sponsorship and application consultant services of AC motors, gear motors, planetary gearboxes and components to all participating teams in the finals. The college students had to unleash their creativity, combining theoretical knowledge acquired at school with practical implementation in a pragmatic manner. Long-term teamwork and interdisciplinary research integration capabilities are required to present a complete outcome, which was indeed challenging. We believe that enterprises must take social responsibility into account while pursuing sustainable operation. As we gradually move towards the direction of ESG, it is even more important to fulfill corporate social responsibility. Sesame Motor's participation in industry-academy collaboration activities aims to establish a solid foundation for intelligent automation technology and future talents for the industry.
